Trust Your Doctor

Or trust yourself. As any of today's doctor-authors would acknowledge, they are not the only experts in the stories we live and tell. There is a new type of memoir in which patients, too, examine the medical facts as well as the science while contextualizing it with lived experience, and expressing it with a fresh creative vision.

Why Should You Care?

You Are a Patient Too

My story is a tale of caution highlighting the power imbalance inherent in the doctor-patient relationship as well as how we can become better, more careful, consumers of healthcare services. My wish is that others don't have to go through what I did.

Story of Healing

Healing is a part of life. We often have many stories of healing throughout our lives that relate both to our mental wellbeing as well as our physical health. My story is extreme. It is healing from six brain and spine surgeries.

Interconnected Human Experience

We are all parts of a whole. Not a single thing happens in the universe that does not affect something or somebody else. I see my value also as part of the whole and my biggest wish is to tell the world what happened. It matters. It affects all of us. It's our health!

Inspiration

If you ever felt that your problems were too much to handle, or that what happened to you is not fair, I promise you, you will find something to relate to in my book. We all struggle, perseverance is always an option too.

Healthcare Issues

The problem is not individual doctors or patients. The problem is systematic. And the solution will need to be healthcare reform at its core. I am not a politician and I have no political interests. But my story sheds light on the issues that affect you, today, as a healthcare consumer.

Doctor Quotes - Audio Recordings

“Keep in mind that Edmonton is bigger than Pittsburgh right. We are seeing about 2.5 million people we cover. So we see a lot of weird diseases too.” - my weird diseases are 1 in 300,000,000
